{"id":884,"date":"2014-12-16T10:53:34","date_gmt":"2014-12-16T15:53:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.reefrelieffounders.com\/news\/?p=884"},"modified":"2014-12-16T10:53:34","modified_gmt":"2014-12-16T15:53:34","slug":"coral-list-national-marine-fisheries-service-proposes-listing-3-corals-as-endangered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.reefrelieffounders.com\/news\/2014\/12\/16\/coral-list-national-marine-fisheries-service-proposes-listing-3-corals-as-endangered\/","title":{"rendered":"Coral-List:  National Marine Fisheries Service Proposes listing 3 corals as endangered"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>December 16th, 2014<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow, the National Marine Fisheries Service publishes a proposed<br \/>\nrule to list 3 corals (\/Cantharellus noumeae, Siderastrea glynni,<br \/>\n\/and\/Tubastraea floreana\/) as endangered under the Endangered Species<br \/>\nAct.\u00a0 This finding is part of a wider finding on a petition to list 81<br \/>\nmarine species.\u00a0 Of that original 81 species there were 23 species of<br \/>\ncoral.\u00a0 In our 90-day finding on the petition on 25 October 2013 we<br \/>\ndetermined 20 of those 23 corals were not warranted for listing.<br \/>\nTomorrow&#8217;s finding relates to the 3 remaining species.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed listing of the three corals as endangered is consistent<br \/>\nwith our recent listing of 20 corals as Threatened under the ESA.
