A new report spearheaded by the CARIBSAVE project under UNDP funding
\nhighlights the impacts of climate change on Caribbean nations and
\nnatural resources. In particular, the report highlights the difference
\nin the impacts at the 2.0\u00b0C increase being pushed by many UN
\nnegotiators vs. the 1.5\u00b0C increase promoted by the Alliance of Small
\nIsland States. The report focuses on: the implications of ice sheet
\nmelt for global sea level rise (SLR); the projections and implications
\nof SLR for the Caribbean region; evaluation of the differential
\nimpacts of +1.5\u00b0 and +2\u00b0C on coral reefs, water resources and
\nagriculture in the Caribbean, with additional analysis for the Pacific
\nislands. Of particular interest are the sections on climate change and
\nocean acidification impacts on Caribbean coral reefs — analysis led
\nby NOAA’s Coral Reef Watch and its partners.<\/p>\n
